Pat and Yasmine are waiting for the bus to take them on an one hour journey to a Kelly Girls Care Centre.
There are going to observe and learn from the carer's how the
Centre handles the day to day care of the Kelly girls.
They arrive near the Centre and Skipper from the Kelly Care Centre is there at the bus stop to welcome them and walk with them to the Centre. Skipper takes them to the dormitory at the A Block area which is for the girls who live at the Centre.
When they enter A Block they observe the Kelly girls getting out of bed and getting ready to have breakfast.
When the girls have finished eating their breakfast Pat and
Yasmine are asked to take them to the outside play area.
The girls run to the metal frame climbing ball.
Next they go over to the slide.
The twins, Trudy and Wendy look over at the see-saw and go
and climb on it and have a turn on the see-saw before the others come over.
Two other girls go to the swing.
The supervisor comes and tells Pat and Yasmine to bring the
children inside and take them to the toilet and to see they wash their hands
before sitting down for morning tea.
When the girls have finished morning tea they sit on the mat
and Pat is asked to read them a story.
When the story is finished the girls are free to play with
inside toys until lunch time.
After lunch the girls lie down to have an afternoon rest. Pat stays in the room to supervise the girls. They settle well and go to sleep.
The girls wake up and to have afternoon tea and Pat and Yasmine say good bye to the girls and thank the supervisor and Skipper and leave to catch the bus back to the town near Kowhai Corner.
