Anzac Day 2024

Edna, Jill, Ethel and Thelma are standing underneath the song sheet used at the 10 am Anzac service this morning.

Pat left the service as soon as it finished to get back to Kowhai Corner  Hall to make hot chocolate and set up the Anzac biscuits on the table for the Hitty girls to have when they arrive home from the Anzac Service.

The Hitty girls arrive to have a hot chocolate and an Anzac biscuit. Woody, the cat has followed them into the hall.

Woody jumps up onto the table and knocks a bottle of milk off the table onto the floor.

Ethel has a look before she gets a cloth to clean it up but Woody has jumped off the table and he has started to lick it up.

A St Patrick's Celebration afternoon

Pat and Yasmine are going to host a fun St Patrick’s afternoon for the local children at Kowhai Corner Hall. The children have been asked to wear green if possible and the Sunshine Families children have been asked to bring a green item along to the afternoon.

Yasmine and Pat are decorating the hall for this celebration afternoon.

Brenda drops off her four girls and Sharon and Brenda tells Pat the boys of the Sunshine families will not be coming to the afternoon. Pat tells the girls to set in a circle and tell what items they have brought. Hope has brought a green child’s handbag, Jennifer has brought a green toy car, Leah has brought a green toy giraffe, Jackie a green ball and Sharon has brought along a green spinning top.

Four local girls arrive together.

They come into the hall and Yasmin puts out a couple of chairs and cushions and girls settle down

Pat starts telling the girls the story about St Patrick when she is interrupted....

when Skipper arrives with five girls from the Kelly Care Centre. The girls do some dot to dot and mazes before they are served with a plate of lime jelly, lime ice cream and cooked peaches.

The girls then go outside to play and before too long the afternoon comes to a close. The girls from Kelly Care Centre get into the bus and go home. Then the other girls leave to go home too.
